$7.00 Fat Fee at Old Navy

Old Navy lost my sale.
I refuse to pay $7.00 shipping for being plus sized.

This afternoon, while lazily procrastinating on my housework, I planned tomorrows shopping adventure on paper with the web in front of me. That’s when I decided to never buy clothing from Old Navy until they change their policy of only selling Plus Sized Women’s clothing exclusively online and forcing women to pay shipping because they are fat. Yes, you heard it correctly, little ‘ol me is boycotting Old Navy.

I decided to visit Old Navy because it’s my husband’s birthday and he really liked some short sleeved cotton oxford shirts I bought on sale from there a few years ago. I called the closest store to us here in Escondido and asked if they carried Men’s clothing and Plus Sized clothing. The salesgirl chirped back that Men’s clothing is absolutely in the store however, her store and indeed every Old Navy store does not carry Plus Sizes and are “exclusively” online. She pointed out that Old Navy will, conveniently, accept returns in the store. Oh, how nice of them.

Ok, so why are there no Plus Sizes in Old Navy stores? I guess one could argue that there just isn’t a market for Plus Sizes enough to warrant the cost of shipping them to stores. I, however, find that to be a bit of bullshit as most stores that sell Plus Sizes at all have them in the stores. So, in other words, if you’re Plus Sized ladies, the fat surcharge at Old Navy is currently is $7.00. No thanks. I’ll shop where I’m wanted. Well wait…maybe there is a coupon code somewhere exclusively for fat girls for free shipping! No fucking way.
